What are kriyas? Kriyas are involuntary, automatic movements, twitches, or vocalizations that sometimes occur as the rise of Kundalini clears the karma, patterns, and energy pathways of the the energy body. Kriyas can take many forms, from a simple urge to do yoga postures (even if you don't know any yoga) - to dances, songs, and chants you don't know (possibly in a language you don't know).
It is said that yoga originated from observing people spontaneously going through kriyas during kundalini awakening. People surmised that if they reversed the process and did those exact postures regularly, their kundalini would rise. This is unfortunately a very slow route to kundalini awakening, and often it does not ever result in kundalini awakening.
Rocking, nodding, twitching, and shaking are the most common types of kriyas, and they range from tiny shudders to doing dramatic automatic movements. With Divine Openings we say Divine Presence takes over your body and does what needs to be done to free your energy and clear the pathways. As energy begins to move more freely, the kinks and blockages are shaken loose. Some people experience kriyas more radically than others, some don't experience overt kriyas at all, or they're barely noticeable.
